LHH partners with a well-established San Diego organization to hire an Accounts Payable Supervisor who will lead a team of AP Specialists in a high-volume environment. The role combines hands-on accounting duties with team development to improve processes and daily operations.

The ideal candidate has strong AP experience, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close, with advanced Excel and ERP skills. This leadership position offers growth within a stable department.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience with supervision.
• Experience leading an AP team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of high-volume AP, reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and GL accounting.
• Advanced Excel and ERP experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and support a team of Accounts Payable Specialists.
• Oversee high-volume invoice processing and payment activity.
• Review account coding, approvals, supporting documentation, and payment accuracy.
• Manage team workflow and ensure deadlines are met.
• Research and resolve discrepancies in invoices, vendors, payments, and GL.
• Prepare and review reconciliations and journal entries.
• Support accruals and month-end close activities.
• Maintain accounting controls and identify process improvements.
• Partner with internal departments to resolve questions and items.
• Assist with audits and provide backup during peak periods.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and performance management for the AP team.
