Cullum Mechanical, LLC, based in Charleston, SC, is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead and improve the AP function across multiple business units. This role supports project operations, vendor management, and timely financial close in a construction/mechanical contracting environment.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in AP, strong Excel skills, and the ability to collaborate with project managers, operations, and senior leadership to drive accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounts payable experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and AP best practices.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle accounts payable processing for multiple units.
• Ensure invoices are coded, approved, and processed timely.
• Manage weekly check runs, ACH payments, wires, and credit card reconciliations.
• Monitor AP aging and resolve outstanding issues.
• Maintain vendor relationships and respond to inquiries professionally.
• Oversee vendor setup, W-9 collection, and compliance documentation.
• Review invoice coding for accurate project cost allocation.
• Coordinate with project managers on approvals and disputes.
• Monitor subcontractor and supplier payments.
• Maintain internal controls and assist with month/year-end close.
• Prepare AP reports, cash forecasts, and management reporting.
• Support audits and provide requested documentation.
• Evaluate and improve AP workflows and automation.
