Position Summary

Flex Technology Group is hiring an Accounts Payable Manager. The Accounts Payable Manager is tasked with managing the accounts payable function, including maintaining and improving systems for processing accounts payable transactions, managing vendor relations, and ensuring compliance with internal and external financial regulations. This role oversees the processing, recording, and payment of invoices while focusing on accuracy and efficiency. The Accounts Payable Manager manages the accounts payable staff, provides guidance and training, and resolves any issues or disputes that arise.

The salary range for this role is $95,000-$110,000.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  1. Oversee the daily operations of the accounts payable department, ensuring all invoices are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
  2. Develop and implement accounts payable policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  3. Monitor and manage the accounts payable ledger to ensure proper recording and classification of expenditures.
  4. Coordinate with other departments to resolve any issues related to vendor payments or discrepancies.
  5. Prepare and review various reports and statements, such as aging reports, vendor balances, unapplied payments, and cash disbursements.
  6. Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, tax regulations, and audit requirements.
  7. Liaise with other departments, such as purchasing, inventory, and finance, to ensure proper recording and allocation of expenses.
  8. Assist in the preparation and filing of necessary tax forms and reports, such as 1099s, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  9. Complete end of month AP processing including account reconciliation and accruals.
  10. Handle and resolve any inquiries, issues, or disputes related to accounts payable, such as invoice discrepancies, payment delays, or credit memos.
  11. Evaluate and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounts payable processes and implement best practices and automation tools.
  12. Manage and mentor a team of accounts payable specialists, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and continuous development.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  2. At least three years of experience in accounts payable in a managerial or supervisory role.
  3. Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards, such as GAAP, tax laws.
  4. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  7. High attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
  8. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and multitask.
  9. Leadership qualities, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  2. Knowledge of eAutomate ERP system and Docuware software.
  3. 5+ years’ supervisory or managerial experience in Accounts Payable.
  4. Managed high volume/multi-state AP Departments highly preferred.
  5. Advanced MS Office knowledge with Excel Pivot Tables and V-Lookups experience.
  6. Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with accountants, clients and upper management.
