Job summary

Morton Community Bank seeks an Accounts Payable/Mail Clerk to process and pay approved expenditures and to support mailroom operations. This on-site role in Morton, IL offers exposure to AP workflow, vendor verification, check remittance, and data entry in AP software and Excel, with training provided.

You will work within a close-knit team that values accuracy, timeliness, and reliability in handling invoices, W-9s, and mail processing tasks daily.

Qualifications

• Assist with processing and paying all approved expenditures for the bank and helping ensure all expenses are paid promptly.
• General operations support for the mailroom as needed.

Responsibilities

• Help process and prepare incoming bills
• Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
• Verify invoice entries in the AP software for any errors
• Help match signed checks with remittances each week
• Verify new or updated vendors in the AP software
• Verify ACH info for new vendors or updated accounts
• Call/Email vendors for billing assistance
• Enter data into AP software
• Update/Check (pre-built) spreadsheets in Excel
• File and copy invoices
• Request and/or help process new and updated W-9s
• Scan and save items in the AP software
• Sort/Check envelopes from other branches that need mailed
• Meter outgoing mail using the Bank’s mail machine
• Procure and/or deliver incoming/outgoing Bank mail
