Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin seeks an Accounts Payable Manager to lead daily AP operations, ensuring accurate, timely payments and compliance with UT policies and Texas state requirements. You will manage PO and non-PO processing, vendor relations, and the organization's commercial card program.

You will supervise AP staff, enforce performance standards, support audits, and drive process improvements including automation and AI tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5 years of progressively responsible accounts payable or disbursements experience, including two years supervising staff.
• Working knowledge of ERP financial systems and strong Excel skills.
• Knowledge of internal controls, 1099 reporting, and payment compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full accounts payable cycle, including PO and non-PO voucher processing, invoice review, three-way matching, payment scheduling, and disbursement activities.
• Ensure timely and accurate payment processing across various funding sources.
• Monitor AP workflows, volumes, and service levels to maintain operational effectiveness.
• Resolve complex payment issues, invoice discrepancies, vendor disputes, and payment exceptions.
• Oversee commercial card administration and related payment processes.
