Job summary

Search Pro Group is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Lead to oversee the full-cycle AP function in the Norfolk area. You will resolve complex invoice exceptions, manage high-volume reconciliations, and drive accuracy and timeliness across payables while leading a small team.

This role requires 3–5+ years of AP experience, strong attention to detail, ERP software proficiency, and excellent cross‑departmental communication.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of accounts payable experience, including handling complex exceptions and reconciliations.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage high transaction volume accurately and efficiently.
• Strong communication skills for cross‑departmental coordination and vendor relations.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounts payable processing, including invoice coding, approval routing, and payment processing.
• Research and resolve complex invoice exceptions, discrepancies, and vendor disputes.
• Perform vendor statement and account reconciliations, identifying and correcting variances.
• Partner with purchasing, receiving, and other departments to resolve three-way match exceptions.
• Maintain accurate vendor records, W-9s, and payment terms.
• Process weekly/biweekly payment runs (checks, ACH, wires) and ensure timely payment within terms.
• Support month-end close by preparing AP accruals and aging reports.
• Assist with 1099 preparation and annual tax filing support.
• Identify opportunities to improve AP workflows, controls, and efficiency.
• Serve as a point of escalation for complex payables issues.
