Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona is seeking a supervisory accountant to oversee accounts payable, general ledger activities, and related team members in a fast-paced setting. You will ensure timely vendor payments, accurate GL reconciliations, and drive process improvements.

The role requires a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in accounting/finance, 3 years in AP/AR/GL, ERP experience (Workday a plus), and strong communication skills. On-site Phoenix, emphasis on integrity and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field.
• 3 years’ experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable and/or general ledger accounting.
• Experience in high volume Accounts Payable, best practices, procedural efficiencies, automation and internal control processes.
• Proven ability to utilize an ERP system. Workday experience is a plus.
• Experience with ERP implementations or upgrades is a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Proven ability to be analytical and handle data effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks while still delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with integrity.

Responsibilities

• Ensures Accounts Payable Aging is accurate and timely, researches discrepancies and assists with issues.
• Prepares and ensures accuracy of rent and CAM payments for leased properties; communicates with landlords.
• Prepares timely annual filings of 1099s.
• Assists in resolving vendor or departmental issues as needed by Team Members.
• Acts as main point of contact for internal/external vendor escalations.
• Reviews check runs for accuracy, documentation, approvals, and policy adherence.
• Prepares general journal entries and reconciliations of assigned GL accounts.
• Ensures compliance with processes and procedures; identifies issues and recommends improvements.
• Reviews work of assigned Team Members for accuracy.
• Maintains regular in-person attendance and participates in performance management and development.
• Drives culture change efforts and change management processes.
