Job summary

Kershaw County Government in Camden, SC is seeking an accounting/clerical professional to support accounts payable, vendor invoicing and weekly check runs under supervision.

The position requires 1–2 years of accounting experience and an Associate degree in accounting or related field. Proficiency in Word/Excel is expected; CSI software is a plus. Ability to lift 25 lbs and perform inventory tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years accounting experience or equivalent education.
• Associate degree with a major concentration in accounting, business, or related field.
• Proficiency in Word and Excel; CSI software a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process incoming and outgoing mail.
• Process and enter invoices, vouchers, and travel reimbursements.
• Prints and issues checks weekly for vendor, vouchers and reimbursements.
• Resolve discrepancies by communicating with vendors and county officials.
• Maintain accounts payable files.
• Maintain control log for cleared checks.
• Research stale dated checks and issue letters.
• Journal entry and p-cards data entry.
• Must be able to lift/carry weights of five to twenty-five pounds.
• Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, with inventories as requested.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned.
