We are seeking a diligent and experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our growing Accounting team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our procure-to-pay process (P2P) from the onboarding of our vendors, to invoice intake, validating proper account coding, managing approvals, through to invoice payment. As a key contributor, you will collaborate closely across departments to support strategic P2P initiative. This position will report to the Payments Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Process invoices and ensure accuracy and completeness.
Own the entire invoice workflow from receipt to approval.
Reconcile vendor statements with both our records and our vendors. Raise and log queries and resolve any outstanding variances.
Process payments by preparing weekly payment batches accurately and timely, ensuring all payments are in accordance with purchasing policies and procedures. Maintain schedules to track and ensure vendors are paid on time.
Communicate daily using email, messaging applications, and/or phone in a professional manner with suppliers, vendors, internal and external stakeholders.
Reconcile and review AP aging monthly, including following up to close any open AP invoices that are over a month old.
Prepare and file 1099 forms for all appropriate vendors at year-end.
Maintain and organize AP documentation.
Support Virtual Card and Ghost Card processing and reconciliations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree – Finance/Accounting degree or experience a plus.
1 - 4 years of accounts payable experience required.
Able to collaborate across all levels of the company to provide support and improve processes.
Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy as well as effective communication skills (verbal and written).
Proactive in identifying process inefficiencies and offering suggestions for improvements.
Self-directed, able to perform responsibilities independently with minimal direction.
Strong desire to be a team player and help in whatever capacity possible.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working with Coupa and Sage Intacct preferred.
Industry experience in healthcare is a plus.
Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth, start-up environment is preferred.
Additional Physical Job Requirements:
Reading English, comprehending, and following simple oral and written instructions.

Frequent repeating motions required to operate a computer or phone that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Environmental Conditions: occasional exposure to low temperatures or high temperatures, outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind, and noisy environments.
Physical Activities:
Occasionally ascending or descending stairs, ramps, and the like.
Moving about to accomplish tasks and/or moving from one worksite to another.
Adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions.
Operating motor vehicles.
Occasional sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing/driving/flying.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary Range: $51,200 - $64,000
Commission Eligible: No
Equity Eligible: Yes
Travel: Yes - Required up to 5% of the time
Location Requirement: Employment at Alto is limited to individuals residing in the following states: Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Kansas, Maryland, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Washington (WA), and Wisconsin.
