Job summary

State of Missouri’s St. Louis Forensic Treatment Center – North Campus seeks a full-time Accounts Assistant to support Hawthorn Children’s Psychiatric Hospital and both FTC locations with billing, CIMOR data entry, and financial reconciliation.

The role requires accurate data handling, strong organization, and problem-solving abilities while managing claims across Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers. Proficiency in Excel and Healthlink’s Access Database is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of relevant experience (may be substituted)
• Knowledge of billing insurance claims
• Knowledge of basic research methods related to financial transactions
• Ability to identify and resolve issues
• Reliable with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to use a computer and work with various software applications

Responsibilities

• Manage claims processing for Hawthorn and FTC across Manage Care, Private insurance, Medicare and Medicaid to ensure timely reimbursement.
• Prepare monthly LabCorp pathology reports for CIMOR billing entry.
• Process medical bills via Healthlink Access Database and send provider letters as needed.
• Maintain monthly billing spreadsheets for Cost Reporting using Excel.
• Determine and assign correct Revenue codes for checks and proper posting.
• Sort and distribute incoming mail to appropriate departments.

St. Louis Forensic Treatment Center – North, 5351 Delmar Blvd. St. Louis, MO 63112

This full-time Accounts Assistant position at the St. Louis Forensic Treatment Center – North Campus handles billing, data entry in CIMOR, and financial reconciliation and critical thinking for Hawthorn Children’s Psychiatric Hospital and both FTC campus location.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage claims for Hawthorn and FTC, which involves monthly cycle of claims submission, monitoring, and denial management across Manage Care, Private insurance, Medicare and Medicaid Claims in various systems to ensure reimbursement while complying with payer guidelines.
• Prepares monthly lab reports from LabCorp Pathology for entry into CIMOR for billing purposes.
• Processing medical bills via Healthlink’s Access Database and send letters to the providers as needed.
• Maintaining monthly billing spreadsheets for Cost Reporting involves using Excel workbook to track, categorize, and total revenue.
• Adding and determining the correct Revenue code to use for checks ensure proper posting on the checklog.
• Gather, sort and distribute incoming mail to the correct individuals or department.
• Miscellaneous duties as needed.
