Job summary

Oliver James is assisting a large Advisory firm seeking a seasoned accounting professional to join their Accounting & Transaction Advisory practice in Michigan. The role blends public accounting foundations with advisory delivery, including high‑value deals and due diligence.

Candidates may come from External Audit with strong F/S experience or Deals/FDD/TAS background, capable of communicating with C‑suite executives and thriving in a fast‑moving, tech‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance; Masters preferred.
• CPA certification preferred – in process accepted.
• 4+ years in Audit, Assurance, Advisory or Deals/FDD in Public Accounting (Big 4/Top 10 preferred).
• Experience with large public filers and high-value transactions (Deals/FDD).
• Strong communication with C-Suite level individuals.
• Self starter; thrives as IC or in a team-based environment.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, FASB & SEC/ASC rules.
• Shows adaptability to AI and RPA driven tech.

If you’ve got a Public Accounting background, but want to expand that knowledge & experience with a firm devoted to developing & progressing their people, this ones for you.

Skills, Knowledge And Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance, Masters degree preferred
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred – will accept those who are in process
• 4+ years of experience within Audit, Assurance, Advisory or Deals/FDD, within a Public Accounting firm (Big 4/Top 10 preferred )
• Experience with large, Public filers (Audit/Assurance) & High Value Transactions (Deals/FDD)
• High degree of professionalism required- including the ability to communicate with C-Suite level individuals.
• Self starter, who can thrive as an Individual Contributor, or in a team-based environment
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, FASB & SEC/ASC rules and standards.
• Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to changing technological environments (AI, RPA etc.)
