Job summary

Boise Cascade is seeking an Accounting Technician to perform general accounting and financial analysis, including journal entries, ledger reconciliations, and reporting. You will support budgeting, forecasting and financial analyses while maintaining strong relationships with customers and ensuring policy compliance.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years in related roles, plus solid communication and technical skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years related accounting/finance experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational and technical skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and reconcile ledger accounts.
• Prepare financial statements, reports and schedules with accuracy.
• Support forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis for business units.
• Maintain compliance with established accounting policies and procedures.
• Assist with AR/AP, payroll, collections and other duties as assigned.

Boise Cascade has an exciting opening for an Accounting Technician!

Responsibilities

Perform general accounting and financial analysis activities, including the preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of ledger accounts, preparation of financial statements, reports and schedules. Prepare, complete, analyze and report accounting transactions and system maintenance ensuring integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles including ERISA and SEC requirement where applicable. Provide financial support to the business including forecasting, budgeting, and analyzing variations from budget. Maintain strong working relationships with customers. Conduct financial, business analyses and modeling using forecasts, financial statements, and other business inputs to assess risk, improvement opportunities and potential costs and/or benefits. Focus of responsibilities may be to perform accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, credit and collection, sales rebate duties. Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

HS Diploma, GED, or two (2) years equivalent work experience. Normal office environment with minimal physical exertion.

Preferred Qualifications

Typically more than three (3) years of experience in related job function. Role may require technical certification or associates degree. Requires effective communication, interpersonal, organizational, and technical skills and proficient computer skills.
