Boise Cascade Company is seeking a Millwork Freight Specialist to coordinate inbound/outbound deliveries, dock operations, and safety compliance. You will manage trucking arrangements, schedule routes, and maintain carrier profiles while using RFN and Agility systems to keep shipments on track.

Qualifications

• Requires HS Diploma, GED or two years of equivalent work experience.
• Three to five years of related experience preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and truck driver safety considered a plus.
• Strong communication skills; ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in computer software applications and basic math.

Responsibilities

• Schedule inbound/outbound deliveries for customers via company trucks or contracts.
• Coordinate trucking arrangements with location personnel.
• Use RFN system to review routes, assign route numbers, and release pick tickets to scanners.
• Coordinate staging and storage of all door materials, slabs, jambs, glass, etc.
• Foster daily safety awareness and DOT/OSHA compliance.
• Develop efficient delivery schedules using trucks or contract drivers.
• Ensure timely filing of DOT reports and Driver Services records.
• Maintain freight and carrier profiles, shipping rates, and logs; update Agility system.
• Monitor hours of service and communicate with drivers via PeopleNet.
• Possibly train driving associates.
• Demonstrate commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Schedule the inbound and/or outbound delivery of products and orders to customers via contract or company truck drivers. Coordinate with the location’s personnel to provide trucking arrangements for all freight needs. Utilize RFN system (review routes, assign route number, release pick ticket information to scanning equipment) for trucks and/or will calls. Coordinate staging, storage of all door material, slabs, jambs, glass, etc. Create day-to-day safety awareness and DOT and OSHA regulations. Develop efficient delivery schedules effectively utilizing trucks and/or use of contract drivers. Assure timely filing of DOT reports and Driver Services records. Maintain profiles and freight contracts, motor carrier profiles, shipping rates, driving logs, etc. and update the Agility system as appropriate. Monitor hours of service compliance, and message Truck Drivers as needed through PeopleNet system. May train driving associates. Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

HS Diploma, GED or two (2) years equivalent work experience. Working conditions are an office environment with minimal physical exertion, and frequent periods of sitting.

Preferred Qualifications:

Typically three (3) to five (5) years of experience in related job function. May require technical certification or associates degree. Knowledge and experience with DOT regulations, requirements and truck driver safety a plus. Effective communication skills. Ability to perform tasks in a fast paced work environment. Requires proficiency in utilizing computer software applications necessary for performing job responsibilities. Ability to understand and apply addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
