Job summary

Servbank is seeking an Accounting Team Lead in Phoenix to join our Finance and Accounting organization. You will lead by example, applying strong GAAP knowledge and analytical skills to ensure accurate, timely financial work.

The role involves journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, regulatory reporting, and audits while mentoring staff and driving process improvements. A Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance and 5+ years in banking or financial services are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience; banking/financial services experience preferred.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and internal controls.
• Ability to lead and develop a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example, fostering accountability, collaboration, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
• Independently compile, analyze, and review financial information to prepare and record journal entries in the general ledger.
• Record, reconcile, and analyze daily cash and investment activities; escalate variances as needed.
• Prepare and maintain account reconciliations; resolve outstanding items timely.
• Support month-end and year-end close; prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly accounting schedules and reports with high accuracy.
• Maintain departmental procedures; ensure alignment with internal controls.
• Support audits by collecting and organizing audit documentation; respond to requests.
• Assist with regulatory reports such as FR 2900, Call Report, and Y-9SP.
• Serve as back-up for Accounts Payable activities; review invoices and reimbursements.
• Identify process inefficiencies; propose improvements and support implementation.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve accounting-related questions.
