Job summary

Airgas is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to oversee financial accounting, month-end close, GL analyses, journal entries, and internal reporting. You will partner with ALABS, manage audits, and drive ad hoc analyses while building relationships across the organization.

The role requires a CPA and/or MBA, 4+ years of financial reporting, and strong leadership with SAP expertise. A solid track record in managing priorities in a large company is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• CPA and/or MBA in Finance/Accounting a plus.
• Minimum of four years financial reporting / financial accounting experience, public accounting experience and exposure to medium-to-large companies is a plus.
• Minimum three years supervisor level accounting and financial reporting experience in positions of increasing responsibility is a plus.
• Solid leadership qualities including team management and people development skills.
• Advanced experience with SAP software.
• Skilled project management skills required.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting divisional, local, and corporate management and demands.

Responsibilities

• Supervising accurate financial and statistical close processes, in conjunction with ALABS, including general ledger account reconciliations and other analyses within established timelines.
• Significant sales accruals that are not based on a standard report/calculation.
• Significant COS & OPEX accruals, that are not based on a standard report/calculation.
• Localized accounting topics including, but not limited to, real estate taxes and personal property taxes.
• Ad-hoc entries arising from the month end close review process
• Provide input and support to Airgas Financial Reporting on unusual items as well as Line 5 (share plans, asset disposals, settlements) and Line 9 (restructuring, etc.) topics.
• Proactively, and/or as requested, develop and direct the preparation and communication of ad hoc accounting reports and analysis
