Ascendo Resources in Buchanan, NY is seeking an Accounting Supervisor & Billing Specialist to oversee billing, bookkeeping, payroll, and financial administration across multiple service divisions. You will work closely with ownership to manage day-to-day accounting and support municipal bids and regulatory reporting.

This is a hands-on, independent role for a self-starter who can manage multiple priorities while maintaining accurate records using QuickBooks Desktop.

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop.
• Experience with customer billing, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll processing.
• Organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable working independently.
• Experience preparing bids or working with municipal or government contracts is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and process customer invoices for septic, sewer, drain, and related services.
• Review completed work orders, service tickets, and supporting documentation to ensure billing accuracy.
• Enter customer check and credit card payments into QuickBooks and apply them to the appropriate accounts.
• Prepare and distribute monthly customer statements.
• Monitor outstanding invoices, follow up on balances, and resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues.
• Maintain accurate financial records and enter and categorize transactions in QuickBooks.
• Reconcile monthly bank statements and monitor business checking accounts.
• Investigate discrepancies, unauthorized transactions, and other financial irregularities.
• Prepare routine financial reports and provide accounting information to management.
