Ardent Mills in Denver, CO is seeking an Accountant to execute core accounting processes across operating units. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, support month-end close, maintain internal controls, and escalate high-risk items with analysis.

The role requires coordinating with business units and plant locations, understanding financial flows and cross-functional handoffs. You will prepare journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, support audits, and identify efficiencies

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree OR equivalent experience.
• Experience: 4-5 Years of relevant experience.
• Experience supporting general accounting activities, such as journal entries, account reconciliations, financial close, or financial reporting.
• Experience following internal controls and maintaining clear, accurate process documentation.
• Experience supporting audit requests or providing documentation and analysis for internal or external review.
• Experience in a food, ingredients, or manufacturing environment is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts, including travel and purchase cards, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, and intercompany transactions.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes by ensuring accurate, timely reporting and maintaining current documentation for accounting policies and procedures.
• Support Cross Training across the General Accounting Team.
• Partner with Cashdesk on any Cash Related Reconciliations.
• Support biannual D365 Update Testing.
• Partner with Technical Accounting on complex or emerging matters.
• Support internal and external audits through timely documentation, analysis, and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with IT and operations to automate routine tasks.
• Identify and implement efficiencies in accounting processes.
• Share learning, maintain current process documentation, learn new tools and processes, and contribute constructively during process redesign and system implementation.
• Use reporting and visualization tools, maintain data integrity and standard definitions, and identify repeatable work suitable for automation or AI-enabled improvement.
