Job summary

Ardent Mills is seeking a Cost Accountant to safeguard inventory accounting integrity and valuation across assigned facilities in Denver. You will partner with Operations to investigate discrepancies, analyze variances, and support month-end close with journal entries and accruals.

The role emphasizes understanding manufacturing and supply-chain processes, driving risk-based improvements, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree OR equivalent experience.
• Progress toward CPA or CMA preferred.
• Experience 4 - 5 years in inventory/manufacturing accounting or related fields.
• Knowledge of plant cost drivers, financial flows, and cross-functional handoffs.
• Experience with ERP systems and complex transaction processing.
• Experience supporting inventory controls, audits, or financial close in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies and adjust counts as needed.
• Monitor inventory transactions, balances, and valuation for accurate reporting.
• Assist with USDA/state audits and compliance reporting.
• Identify process improvements and automation opportunities to improve efficiency and control.
