Position Title: Accounts Payable & Accounting Specialist

Position Overview

World Travel, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and motivated Accounts Payable & Accounting Specialist to join our Finance Team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems, and taking ownership of their work. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our accounts payable function while also supporting general accounting, reconciliations, month-end close, and other financial activities.

The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in getting the details right, follows through on commitments, communicates effectively, and looks for ways to make accounting processes more efficient. You will work closely with vendors and colleagues throughout the company, making strong communication and customer service skills just as important as accounting knowledge.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain accurate and organized vendor files and payment records.
  • Process employee expense reimbursements accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor accounts payable activity to ensure invoices are processed and paid within established timeframes.

    • Supporting documentation
  • Prepare financial reports and other accounting documentation as requested.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for vendor questions regarding invoices, payments, and account balances.
  • Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with vendors.
  • Work collaboratively with internal departments to obtain required approvals and resolve invoice or payment issues.
  • Assist with new vendor setup by ensuring required documentation and information are complete and properly entered into the ERP system.
  • Provide timely and professional responses to accounting-related questions from internal and external stakeholders.
Records, Compliance & Process Improvement
  • Maintain accurate and well-organized electronic and physical accounting records.
  • Support internal and external audit requests by providing documentation and account information.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial and company information.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, increase efficiency, and reduce errors.
  • Assist with special projects and other accounting-related responsibilities as assigned.
What We're Looking For

We are looking for an accounting professional who combines strong attention to detail with the ability to see the bigger picture. You should be comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities, and following an accounting process from invoice request through payment and reconciliation.

  • 3-5 years of accounting or clerical accounting experience
  • Hands-on experience with accounts payable processes and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of general accounting principles.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
What Success Looks Like
  • Process invoices and payments accurately and within established deadlines.
  • Keep vendor accounts and financial records organized and up to date.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies before they become larger problems.
  • Develop positive working relationships with vendors and internal teams.
  • Contribute to a smooth and timely month-end close.
