• Prepare and analyze financial data including contractual adjustments and reimbursement accounting.
• Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Prepare Medicare and Medicaid cost reports, regulatory filings, and various federal, state, and local tax returns.
• Conduct cost analyses and provide financial insights to leadership.
• Support audit preparation and liaison with external auditors, regulators, and taxing authorities.
• Evaluate accounting processes and implement operational efficiencies.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and industry regulations.
• Maintain accurate financial records in a highly automated accounting environment.

A well-established healthcare organization is seeking an Accounting Soecialist to support financial reporting, budgeting, regulatory compliance, cost analysis, and reimbursement activities. This position is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys analytical work, regulatory reporting, and collaborating with leadership to improve financial and operational processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial data, including contractual adjustments, charity care reserves, bad debt reserves, and reimbursement-related accounting activities.
• Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Prepare Medicare and Medicaid cost reports, regulatory filings, and various federal, state, and local tax returns.
• Conduct cost analyses and provide financial insights and recommendations to leadership.
• Support audit preparation and serve as a liaison with external auditors, consultants, regulatory agencies, and taxing authorities.
• Evaluate accounting processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement operational efficiencies.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and industry regulations.
• Maintain accurate financial records and reporting within a highly automated accounting environment.
