Responsibilities

• Manage the month-end and year-end close process
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and compliance functions
• Review subcontractor billings, job cost reporting, and contract accounting activities
• Ensure compliance with union payroll and labor compliance requirements
• Support financial reporting, reconciliations, and audit requests
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff
• Partner with operations and project management teams to support business objectives
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction accounting experience
• Experience working for a General Contractor (GC) is required
• Strong understanding of month-end close, job costing, subcontractor billing, and compliance
• Knowledge of labor compliance and union payroll requirements
• Experience managing AP, AR, payroll, and accounting operations
• Hands-on leadership style with the ability to support daily transactional activities when needed
• Experience with Vista by Viewpoint is required
