Job summary

Prevail Strategies is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis. You will handle core accounting functions, including full-cycle AP/AR, reconciliations, and process improvements, supporting accurate financial records and cross-functional collaboration.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, analytical thinking, and strong communication to address inquiries and maintain confidentiality.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of accounting experience, with strong exposure to general ledger, AP, and AR.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online and advanced Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Effective cross-functional communicator.

Responsibilities

• Create monthly commission statements.
• Follow internal procedures while maintaining strict confidentiality.
• Perform ad-hoc accounting, financial, and administrative tasks as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service internally and externally, promptly addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
• Manage full cycle AP/AR: process vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and credit card statements; issue customer invoices; apply payments; follow up on overdue items.
• Reconcile AP/AR subledgers to the GL.
• Record and classify corporate credit card transactions with appropriate approvals.
• Prepare documentation and assist with internal and external audits.
• Collaborate with departments to resolve billing issues, vendor or customer questions, and process breakdowns.
• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement, additional documentation, or new development to increase efficiency and align with accounting best practices.

Position Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented, analytical, and forward-thinking Accounting Specialist who is hands-on and highly accountable. This position is responsible for core accounting functions, full-cycle accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, and process improvement. The Accounting Specialist plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial records, smooth operations, and strong partnerships across internal teams.

Key Responsibilities
