Job summary

CNA Insurance is seeking a Complex Claims Specialist to handle accountants professional liability claims nationwide, with a focus on evaluating coverage, liability, damages, and settlements. The role requires strong investigation, negotiation, and collaboration with internal and external partners.

Based in New York area with a flexible hybrid schedule (2 days per week in CNA office locations), you will manage a portfolio of complex claims, maintain reserves, and ensure timely, quality outcomes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Typically four years of relevant claims handling or professional liability experience.
• Must obtain/maintain a state Insurance Adjuster License within 90 days of hire.
• Professional designations are a plus (e.g. CPCU).

Responsibilities

• Manage an inventory of moderate to high complexity commercial claims within authority.
• Investigate, verify coverage, and determine liability and damages.
• Establish reserves and negotiate settlements with insureds, claimants and partners.
• Coordinate with coverage counsel on complex matters and refer for litigation as needed.
• Mentor junior staff and ensure timely, quality service and documentation.
