Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems seeks a Senior Manager, Accounting Operations to own and optimize operational accounting functions. This role connects Accounting with Payroll, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing, shaping structure as the company scales and reducing bottlenecks.

You will lead a hands-on, process-driven team, develop SOPs, drive cross-functional improvements, and establish clear ownership while maintaining compliance across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Accounting preferred.
• 7+ years in accounting operations or finance operations.
• 5+ years supervising or leading processes in finance.
• Hands-on with AP, payroll coordination, state filings, and related workflows.
• Experience cross-functionally with Supply Chain, FP&A, HR/ERP/IT.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, recommend, and implement process improvements for accounting operations.
• Own collaboration with Supply Chain, FP&A, People Ops, IT to optimize processes.
• Manage AP, payroll, expense reporting, and state filing compliance.
• Serve as first-line manager for operational accounting triage and escalation.
• Document SOPs, training materials, and ensure changes are adopted.
• Monitor metrics to identify trends, reduce rework, and improve processing time.
