Commonwealth Fusion Systems LLC is seeking a Senior Manager of Accounting Operations to own and optimize our operational accounting functions. You will bridge Accounting with Payroll, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and other teams, driving scalability and eliminating bottlenecks. Lead hands-on when needed and shape best practices for a fast-growing company.

The role emphasizes anticipatory process design, role clarity, and scalable controls, with opportunities for growth as the organization scales.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in accounting operations or finance operations.
• 5+ years in supervisory or process-owner roles.
• Hands-on with AP, payroll, state filings, and compliance workflows.
• Proven ability to remove bottlenecks and drive accountability across functions.
• Experience working cross-functionally with Supply Chain, FP&A, HR, ERP/IT.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, recommend, and implement process improvements for accounting operations.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, FP&A, People Ops, IT to optimize processes.
• Lead AP, payroll, expense reporting, and state filing compliance teams.
• Serve as first-line owner for accounting issue triage and root-cause follow-up.
• Document procedures, create SOPs, and communicate changes across functions.
• Monitor metrics and trends to reduce rework and improve accuracy.
