Job summary

Vista Higher Learning seeks an Accounting Operations Manager to lead AP and AR, billing, collections, cash management, and transaction processing. You will oversee teams, strengthen controls, and drive automation, including Ramp and NetSuite initiatives.

You will collaborate with Finance, Sales, Customer Support, and Operations to improve processes and ensure accurate financial operations in a hybrid Boston-based role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience with exposure to AP, AR, billing, collections, and operational accounting functions.
• 3+ years of management experience leading accounting or finance professionals.
• Experience managing transactional accounting teams in a growth-oriented environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading process-improvement, system implementation, or finance transformation initiatives.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, operational accounting processes, and audit requirements.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and modern ERP/accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the AP and AR teams, including performance management, workload prioritization, coaching, training, and staff development.
• Oversee end-to-end procure-to-pay and order-to-cash operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage AP/AR operations, including vendor payments, invoice processing, collections, cash application, and billing.
• Drive process improvement and automation, including Ramp optimization and best practices.
• Partner with Finance leadership on NetSuite deployment and other system initiatives.
• Maintain a strong internal control environment and ensure GAAP compliance and audit readiness.
• Develop operational reporting and KPIs for AP, AR, cash flow, and vendor management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes and vendor/customer experience.
• Undertake other duties and special projects as assigned.
