Job summary

Our client, a global private equity and investment firm in New York, NY, is seeking an Accountant to join their team. Reporting to the Controller, you will support day-to-day accounting and financial operations and help modernize processes with new technology and automation.

Responsibilities include owning the AP process, bank reconciliations, month-end close, journal entries, intercompany invoicing, cost allocations, and management-fee tracking. Proficiency in NetSuite and Concur is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong background in general ledger accounting and accounts payable (AP).
• NetSuite or similar ERP experience.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Own the accounts payable process and lead efforts to streamline it through new technology and automation, ensuring all disbursements comply with firm policies.
• Review daily cash activity, record cash receipts and disbursements, and prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
• Support the month, quarter, and year-end close processes.
• Record journal entries and prepare accounting workpapers, including accruals, prepaids, and fixed asset schedules.
• Prepare intercompany and affiliate invoices, manage cost allocations across related entities, and keep receivables current.
• Support the calculation, billing, and recording of management fees, and track related receivables.
• Manage employee reimbursements and the firm's corporate card program.
• Maintain vendor relationships, update vendor records, and prepare 1099s annually.
• Assist with audits, tax support, and other ad-hoc examinations.
• Develop expertise in firm systems, including NetSuite and Concur, and support users in Concur.
• Partner with external support teams and consultants on system enhancements.
• Prepare monthly financial analysis and reporting.
• Support the management company team on key projects, analysis, and ad hoc requests.
