Job summary

The Tutoring Center at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College provides tutoring and individual assistance to A-B Tech students. TC aides assist students with acquiring the skills necessary to succeed in their coursework.

Aides and tutors work directly with students in a fast-paced, busy lab. Lab aides implement and enforce TC and A-B Tech policies while providing professional, helpful, and reliable assistance to students.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree with significant coursework in Accounting or related field.
• Experience teaching or tutoring in a higher education setting, or relevant work.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; patience and ability to multi-task.
• Basic computing skills and ability to use a graphing calculator.

Responsibilities

• Tutor students in accounting and various levels of math.
• Occasional data entry and record-keeping, customer service, and general office duties.
• Other duties as assigned by the TC Coordinator.
