Job summary

Avenue5 Residential, LLC seeks an Accounting Manager to lead property accounting across a portfolio of communities. This role collaborates with property and regional managers to ensure accurate, timely financial close and reporting in compliance with GAAP.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of accounting experience, 3–5 years in property management, a Bachelor’s in accounting or finance, and direct management experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• CPA license preferred.
• 3–5 years accounting experience required; 3–5 years in property management preferred.
• Direct management experience required.
• Knowledge of GAAP in multi-family property management preferred.
• Experience with Yardi Voyager or similar systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and review financial information; reconcile bank accounts and statements; prepare journal entries; assist with budgets.
• Drive month-end and year-end close; prepare financial reporting packages and variance analyses.
• Develop, implement, and maintain accounting controls and policies to improve workflow.
• Coordinate and prepare documentation for year-end financial audits.
• Collaborate with property and regional managers on pre-close activities; ensure timely entries.
• Recruit, interview, and develop associates; support hiring as needed.
• Follow up with clients on property profitability; address inquiries promptly.
• Ensure all debt, funding, and financial statement deadlines are met.
• Perform other tasks as directed.
