You will mentor the accounting team, maintain internal controls, and collaborate with property leadership and corporate finance to align practices with policy. A CPA is preferred, five+ years in accounting management, and proficiency in ERP systems.

Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the accounting functions of our property. This key leadership role involves managing the monthly close process, ensuring accurate account reconciliations, preparing financial reports, maintaining internal controls, and supervising the accounting team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in delivering precise financial information that supports strategic decision-making and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion
• Manage account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and applicable financial reporting standards
• Maintain and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and performance feedback
• Collaborate with property leadership and corporate finance to align accounting practices with company policies
• Ensure all financial data is complete, accurate, and prepared in a timely manner
• Assist with audits and liaise with external auditors as needed
• Support process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred
• Proven experience in accounting management, preferably within the property or real estate industry
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting standards, and internal controls
• Excellent leadership and team management skills
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to analyze complex financial data and communicate findings clearly
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required.
• Five years or more of related experience required.
• Certified Public Accountant designation preferred, but not required.
