Job summary

Vaco by Highspring seeks a Senior Accountant in Nashville to support month-end close, prepare journal entries and reconciliations, and deliver accurate financial reporting in a fast-paced environment. You will analyze results, investigate variances, assist with audits and internal controls, and collaborate across accounting, finance, and operations to improve processes and reporting.

A Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance and 3+ years of progressive accounting experience are required; CPA or public

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and the month-end close process.
• Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Strong Excel skills and experience working within an ERP/accounting system.
• CPA or public accounting experience is a plus, but not required.
• Detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams.

Responsibilities

• Support and/or own key areas of the month-end and year-end close process
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Analyze financial results and investigate variances
• Maintain accurate general ledger activity and supporting schedules
• Assist with audit requests, internal controls, and compliance
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting
• Partner with accounting, finance, and operational teams across the organization
• Take on additional responsibilities and projects as the business continues to grow
