Job summary

Vaco by Highspring in Nashville is seeking a VP of Finance & Accounting to lead all finance and accounting functions, partner with the President, and drive strategic financial leadership while staying hands-on in day-to-day operations.

You will oversee GAAP-compliant reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and ERP optimization, building a high-impact team and translating financial data into actionable insights for senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• 10+ years in progressive finance and accounting roles.
• 5+ years of leadership in finance/accounting.
• CPA preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and internal controls.
• ERP/accounting software experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all finance and accounting functions.
• Lead day-to-day accounting operations including AP/AR, banking, tax compliance, reporting, and controls.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting and close processes.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting with performance analysis.
• Provide cash flow, profitability, and financial analysis for decisions.
• Partner with President and exec team on strategic planning and investments.
• Develop KPIs, dashboards, and financial metrics for visibility.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and tax/regulatory requirements.
• Oversee tax, audits, inventory, fixed assets, and asset protection.
• Develop policies, procedures, and internal controls; optimize ERP and reporting tools.
• Mentor and develop the finance team; translate financials for non-financial stakeholders.
