This hands-on role requires performing accounting activities when needed, directing the third-party bookkeeper, and guiding the accounting support functions as the company grows in the entertainment sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Five+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, accrual accounting, month-end close, and financial statement prep.
• Hands-on experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and transactional accounting.
• Ability to lead accounting support and direct the third-party bookkeeper.

Responsibilities

• Manage the monthly close process and prepare accurate financial statements.
• Maintain the general ledger and perform account reconciliations.
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries.
• Process payroll and support cash management.
• Oversee AP/AR and other transactional accounting activities.
• Develop and direct the accounting support function, including oversight of the bookkeeper.
• Support budgeting, reporting, and financial analysis.
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and ensure proper closure.
• Improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controls.
• Document and maintain accounting procedures and workflows.
• Support onboarding and select admin activities as support staff are added.
• Serve as a dependable financial resource for the organization.
