Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is partnering with a mission-driven organization in Brentwood to hire an Accounting Manager. This role will work closely with the Controller and help strengthen the accounting function through the month-end close, reconciliations, and internal controls.

There is significant growth potential as the team expands, with opportunities to lead processes, improve workflows, and implement more automated tools.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP.
• Hands-on month-end close and balance sheet reconciliation experience.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Public accounting experience with a Big 4, national, or strong regional firm preferred.
• Strong Excel and analytical skills.
• Experience improving accounting processes, controls, systems, or workflows is a plus.
• Curious, investigative, and comfortable working through ambiguity.
• Ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and help build the processes around them.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, service-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on partner to the Controller with involvement in the month-end close, reconciliations, accounting processes and internal controls.
• Help identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and implement automated tools and workflows as the organization grows.
• Over time, take on additional leadership responsibility within the accounting team.
