Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred or Associate’s degree in accounting or related field with at least one year of accounting experience (or equivalent).
• Knowledge of general ledger and accounting functions.
• Knowledge of and expertise with computerized accounting systems and sound working knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Must be highly organized and able to handle confidential matters.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll and generate corresponding journal entries.
• Reconcile benefit carrier invoices with payroll data.
• Work with staff to ensure payroll and accounting systems provide accurate information.
• Train managers/supervisors in proper payroll procedures and ensure timely timekeeping records.
• Respond to wage orders, garnishments, tax levies, and other compliance documentation requests.
• Respond to wage verification requests.
• Participate in payroll-related special projects.
• Oversee payroll website design and maintenance.
• Prepare monthly financial statements.
• Assist with annual budgeting and salary budget matrices for all departments.
• Process monthly SRO billing and RAFT application processing.
• Bank deposits for Administrative office.
• Daily exports from POS system.
• Oversee accounts payable selections and payments to vendors.
• Coordinate workers’ compensation and liability insurance renewals with brokers.
• Supervise AP and serve as back-up.
