Job summary

Community Care Cooperative (C3) is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee payroll, month-end close, and AP/invoicing processes for a multi-state nonprofit organization based in Boston, MA.

The role emphasizes accuracy, policy compliance, and process improvement; you will mentor accounting staff, coordinate with HR and SMEs, and support audits while ensuring timely financial reporting for a growing MSO/ACO environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in nonprofit/healthcare.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.
• Experience with monthly close, reconciliations, journal entries, and invoicing.
• ADP Payroll software experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee payroll processing across multiple states and ensure accuracy.
• Manage full month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Review accounts payable processing and vendor invoicing.
• Improve accounting processes and implement QC checklists.
• Mentor accounting staff and coordinate with SMEs and leadership.
• Support audit preparation and respond to auditor requests.
• Provide coverage for finance leadership as needed.
