Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a nonprofit organization in Essex County, NJ to identify an Accounting Manager. The role leads day‑to‑day accounting, GL close, and revenue recognition in GAAP, with emphasis on grants, pledges, and cash management. Requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance and 5+ years in nonprofit accounting, plus NetSuite experience.

The position offers a competitive base salary between $100,000 and $120,000, comprehensive benefits, and strong work‑life balance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in the non-profit space.
• Working knowledge of NetSuite non-profit ERP.
• Experience in pledge receivable reconciliations.
• Contributed revenue recognition between unrestricted and temporarily restricted funds.
• Net assets by fund reconciliation.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including direct supervision of A/P and A/R staff.
• Manage the monthly general ledger close process, including review of journal entries, reconciliations, fixed assets, and account analyses.
• Oversee accounting for contributions, gifts, and other unearned revenue in compliance with GAAP, partnering with the Development team for accurate coding.
• Maintain accurate records of grants, pledges, receivables, and deferred revenue to ensure proper revenue recognition.
• Coordinate daily cash management activities, including revolving credit line activity and support cash projections.
