Job summary

Ascend Vision Partners is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead accounting, financial reporting, reconciliation, and month-end close for assigned units. You will oversee a team of accounting professionals, ensure accurate IFRS-compliant reporting, and drive process improvements in a fast-growing eye care platform.

The role partners with FP&A, Tax, and Audit to resolve issues and support financial reporting requirements, delivering strong internal controls and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA designation preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Minimum of 3 years of people management experience.
• Proven leadership or managerial experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience implementing accounting process automation.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with budgeting and forecasting.
• Knowledge of relevant tax laws and regulations.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage general accounting functions: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements for accuracy and completeness.
• Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls.
• Identify, assess, and resolve accounting issues, risks, and variances; provide guidance and escalation.
• Lead process improvement, automation, and transformation initiatives.
• Coach and develop accounting staff; foster accountability and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate and facilitate the annual audit process with external auditors.
• Analyze financial data and trends to guide business decisions and strategy.
• Prepare budgets and forecasts; monitor variances and report performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial planning and analysis.
• Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing and related filings.
• Maintain and improve accounting systems and processes.
