Job summary

Vistar in Lawrenceville, GA is seeking an experienced accounting supervisor to lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closes, oversee general ledger, and support internal financial reporting. You will interact with employees across the organization and coordinate with auditors and banks.

The role emphasizes GAAP, SOX controls, strong Excel and Access skills, and the ability to guide a team through process improvements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• 10+ years accounting experience including supervisory roles in a high-volume environment.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls; SOX familiarity.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and the ability to lead teams through change.
• Proficient in Excel; working knowledge of Access.

Responsibilities

• Supervise associates including staffing, training, coaching, performance management and problem resolution.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual close for OpCo.
• Perform and/or review complex accounting reconciliation and analysis.
• Direct activities of teams responsible for general ledger, vendor billing, cash reconciliation, fixed assets and related capital expenditure accounting.
• Provide strategic process-improvement recommendations and lead teams through change.
• Maintain integrity of the general ledger; prepare ad hoc reports and assist with audits.
