Job summary

Active Transportation Alliance in Atlanta, GA is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the close process and broader accounting activities under the Controller. You will ensure GAAP compliance, manage month-end tasks, and support budgeting and audits.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Accounting, 8–15 years of GL experience, and CPA preferred. Proficiency with Excel/Word and Costpoint ERP is expected, with some travel (<25%).

Qualifications

• Requires working knowledge of US GAAP and ability to prepare and analyze general ledger data.
• FAR knowledge preferred but not required; strong cost accounting and contract accounting experience welcome.
• Experience with an ERP Financial Management system, Costpoint preferred; advanced Excel skills required.
• Ability to collaborate with operations and external vendors; strong problem-solving mindset.
• Experience with Government and Commercial Contracts and revenue recognition is important.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close, including journal entries and GL analysis.
• Manage indirect cost reports and submissions; prepare monthly financial reports for leadership.
• Oversee invoicing, balance sheet reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, and year-end audits.
• Assist with annual budgeting and development of the annual plan.
• Handle state filing and registration; prepare sales and property tax returns.
• Support special projects and travel up to 25%.
• Partner with Controller and other departments to ensure GAAP compliance.
