McDowell Hetherington LLP is seeking an Accounting Manager in Houston to oversee daily accounting operations, supervise the accounting team, and collaborate with billing and finance leadership on reporting. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of accounting experience, supervisory background, and strong GAAP knowledge, with advanced Excel and Office skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3-5 years’ experience in an accounting role, preferably law firm.
• Supervisory or managerial experience.
• Ability to accurately enter data into computer systems.
• Strong attention to detail.

Responsabilités

• Oversee daily accounting operations and financial recordkeeping.
• Develop a productive, collaborative environment through coaching accounting staff.
• Ensure accuracy of financial data with 900+ transactions monthly.
• Supervise and process A/P invoices.
• Oversee and reconcile firm credit card transactions.
• Supervise check requests and employee reimbursements.
• Manage data entry in LMS, including new users and client matters.
• Assist attorneys with accounting inquiries.
• Oversee monthly firm expenses payments.
• Support monthly reporting, forecasting, and month-end close.
