The New Orleans Tribune is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee our accounting functions, lead the monthly close, manage reconciliations, and prepare GAAP-compliant reports. This role ensures internal controls, supports audits, and mentors the accounting team to provide precise financial information for strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
• Proven experience in accounting management, preferably within the property or real estate industry.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting standards, and internal controls.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to analyze complex financial data and communicate findings clearly.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
• Manage account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP and applicable standards.
• Maintain and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and performance feedback.
• Collaborate with property leadership and corporate finance to align practices with policies.
• Ensure all financial data is complete, accurate, and prepared in a timely manner.
• Assist with audits and liaise with external auditors as needed.
