Job summary

Outpost is seeking an Accounting Manager to own day-to-day accounting operations including bookkeeping, AP/AR processing, and monthly close activities. The role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, accuracy, and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will manage journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, audits, and payroll-related accounting duties while using systems like QuickBooks Advanced, NetSuite, and BILL/Brex to optimize processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA certification is required.
• 4–6 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Knowledge of cost accounting and U.S. GAAP.
• Experience with accounting systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar).
• Experience with audits and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and ensure accuracy of financial records.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of general ledger and subledger accounts.
• Own month-end and year-end close processes and variance analyses.
• Accounts payable: process vendor invoices, POs, and employee expenses with proper approvals.
• Accounts receivable: manage billing, collections, cash application and revenue tracking.
• Implement and improve accounting policies, procedures and controls.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure data integrity and operational alignment.
• Lead external audits and prepare required documentation.
• Utilize and optimize QuickBooks, NetSuite and other ERP systems; manage payroll accounting and tax portal compliance.
