Accounting Manager
KBW Financial Staffing & Recruiting has partnered with a large, publicly traded organization in the Greater Boston area that is seeking an Accounting Manager to join its corporate accounting team. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to lead a team, own key areas of the monthly close, and partner cross-functionally within a complex, global organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly accounting close, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are consistently met
- Oversee accounting activity to ensure transactions are accurately captured within the subledger and general ledger
- Review journal entries, adjustments, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting analyses for accuracy and compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Develop and maintain analyses that provide effective control over and visibility into general ledger activity
- Partner with operational and finance stakeholders to identify and resolve accounting issues arising from business transactions
- Provide reporting and financial information to internal stakeholders to support business and operational processes
- Identify opportunities to improve reconciliations, reporting, analyses, and accounting processes through effective use of systems and technology
- Implement and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls over financial reporting
- Manage, develop, and mentor a team of accounting professionals, including Accountants, Senior Accountants, and Accounting Supervisors
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment focused on meeting business objectives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally within a complex monthly close environment
- Previous leadership or people management experience strongly preferred
- CPA and/or MBA preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting
- Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to partner effectively across different functions and levels of an organization
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-development skills
- Ability to travel approximately 15% as needed
Location: Greater Boston, MA
Compensation: $115,000–$125,000 + bonus, equity
