Job summary

Jobot in Peachtree City, GA is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead all accounting functions within the industrial/manufacturing sector. You will oversee GL, AP, AR, and taxes while guiding budgeting and financial forecasting to support growth.

The role requires aBachelor’s in Accounting/Finance (CPA/CMA a plus) and at least 5 years of accounting experience, with strong Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivots) and staff-mentoring abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CMA/CPA a plus.
• Minimum 5 years accounting experience, preferably in industrial/manufacturing.
• Experience as financial controller or accounting supervisor.
• Strong general ledger and month-end close experience.
• Hands-on with FreshBooks and QuickBooks.
• Advanced Excel skills: VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong organizational skills; multi-project management.
• Knowledge of engineering industry and financial regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general accounting functions: AP, AR, GL, taxes.
• Coordinate and direct budget preparation and forecasts; report variances.
• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
• Coordinate regulatory reporting preparation.
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
• Develop and document business processes and internal controls.
• Liaise with auditors to monitor finances.
• Manage local, state, and federal reporting and tax filings.
• Mentor accounting team members.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing and managing the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes
• Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and report variances
• Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements
• Coordinating the preparation of regulatory reporting
• Researching technical accounting issues for compliance
• Supporting month-end and year-end close process
• Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
• Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Liaising with our auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained.
• Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
• Managing and mentoring members of the accounting team

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CMA, CPA) is a plus.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the industrial or manufacturing sector.
• Proven experience as a financial controller, accounting supervisor, or a similar role.
• Solid experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like FreshBooks and QuickBooks.
• Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• An understanding of the engineering industry and its financial regulations.
