I'm partnering with a Fortune 500 company on a newly created Accounting Manager opportunity! This is a great role for someone who enjoys broad responsibilities, building processes, and taking ownership of new initiatives.
This is an opportunity to help establish the accounting infrastructure for new business ventures within an established, publicly traded organization. Rather than stepping into a role with every process already in place, you'll have the autonomy to determine accounting treatment, develop procedures and controls, and create scalable processes as new initiatives launch and grow.
What Makes This Opportunity Exciting:
- Hybrid Schedule: 6 days onsite a month max.
- Top Benefits: 401k + match, affordable health benefits, PTO, guaranteed annual bonus, tuition reimbursement, fertility coverage, parental leave, etc.
- Build from the ground up: Establish accounting processes, controls, and procedures for new business initiatives.
- Broad ownership: Oversee accounting activities from month-end close and reconciliations to P&L reporting and technical accounting decisions.
- High visibility: Report directly to the Controller and collaborate with teams across Finance, Treasury, Legal, Tax, and other business functions.
- Shape the future: Help integrate new ventures into the broader corporate accounting environment while identifying opportunities for process improvement and automation.
- Best of both worlds: Enjoy the entrepreneurial nature of building something new, backed by the resources, infrastructure, and stability of a Fortune 500 organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead accounting activities for new business ventures and emerging initiatives.
- Determine appropriate accounting treatment and establish processes where none currently exist.
- Own month-end close activities, journal entries, account reconciliations, and P&L reporting.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Integrate new business activities into existing corporate accounting systems and processes.
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective business integration.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce manual processes, and implement automation as operations scale.
- Support internal and external audits through documentation, analysis, and reporting.
What We're Looking For:
Recent public-company experience is REQUIRED. Candidates without experience working in a publicly traded company will not be considered.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and hands-on corporate accounting operations.
- Experience with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and P&L reporting.
- Proven ability to develop, improve, or implement accounting processes and controls.
- Strong Excel skills and the ability to work through detailed accounting analysis.
- Comfort operating in an evolving environment where processes may need to be created from scratch.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
