Job summary

Ledgent Finance & Accounting seeks an Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day accounting functions, including AP, AR, GL maintenance, and month-end close. You will partner with the Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, leadership or supervisory experience, advanced Excel, and ERP proficiency. Experience in high-volume environments such as transportation or logistics is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• AP, AR, General Ledger & month-end close expertise.
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP) and ERP skills.
• Experience in transportation, logistics, freight, or other high-volume environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day accounting function including AP, AR, and GL maintenance.
• Manage month-end close processes and reconciliations.
• Partner with the Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls.
• Support process improvements and drive operational efficiency across the organization.
• Provide leadership and development for accounting staff as needed.

Job description

This position will oversee the day-to-day accounting function, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and month-end close. The Accounting Manager will partner closely with the Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong accounting controls, support process improvements, and help drive operational efficiency across the organization.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• AP, AR, General Ledger & month-end close expertise
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
• Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP) and ERP skills
