About The Role
The role owns the monthly close, general ledger integrity, and external reporting for a fast-growing technology company, ensuring financials are accurate, timely, and compliant with US GAAP.
This position matters because the company is scaling revenue and preparing for greater SEC-adjacent scrutiny: the Accounting Manager builds the close discipline, SOX controls, and audit readiness that let leadership trust the numbers.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the month-end and year-end close in NetSuite, ensuring reconciliations, journal entries, and flux analyses are completed accurately within a 5-7 business day close
- Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules under US GAAP, including revenue recognition (ASC 606) and lease accounting (ASC 842)
- Design, document, and operate internal controls under the SOX framework; coordinate with internal audit and external auditors through quarterly reviews and the annual audit
- Manage a team of 2-3 accountants, reviewing their work, setting close priorities, and developing their technical skills
- Partner with FP&A, revenue, and engineering teams to resolve accounting questions on billing, SaaS contracts, stock-based compensation, and capitalization
- Drive process improvement and automation across the close, including workflow tools (e.g., Blackline, FloQast) and ERP configuration changes
- Support quarterly compliance calendars, tax filings coordination, and ad hoc reporting for leadership and the audit committee
What We Are Looking For
- 5-8 years of combined public accounting and industry experience, with Big 4 or national firm background strongly preferred
- Deep working knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 606 and ASC 842; familiarity with SEC reporting requirements (10-K/10-Q preparation) a plus
- Hands-on NetSuite or comparable ERP experience; comfort with journal entries, subledgers, and close management tooling
- Prior SOX controls experience — designing, testing, or remediating key controls
- CPA license (active or in progress)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Bonus: SaaS or high-growth technology experience, stock-based compensation accounting (ASC 718), and experience scaling a close process through rapid growth
