About The Role
The role owns the monthly close, general ledger integrity, and external reporting cycle for a high-growth technology business operating under US GAAP. The Accounting Manager leads a small team, drives SOX compliance readiness, and ensures ASC 606 revenue recognition, ASC 842 leases, and stock-based compensation are accounted for accurately — work that directly supports SEC reporting, audit readiness, and board-level financial visibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close in NetSuite or a comparable ERP, ensuring accurate and timely close within a 5-business-day target
- Review and prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analyses across revenue, accruals, prepaid assets, and fixed assets
- Apply US GAAP to complex transactions including ASC 606 revenue recognition, stock-based compensation under ASC 718, and ASC 842 leases
- Support SOX 404 internal controls: document key control activities, coordinate testing with internal audit, and remediate control deficiencies
- Manage quarterly reviews and annual audits with external auditors, owning PBC lists and resolving technical accounting questions
- Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules for SEC reporting, including equity and cash flow statements
- Mentor and develop staff accountants, standardizing close procedures and driving process automation through tools like BlackLine, FloQast, or Ramp
What We Are Looking For
- 5-8 years of combined public accounting and industry experience, including Big Four or national firm audit background
- Deep working knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606, and SOX internal control frameworks
- Hands-on ERP experience (NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle) and close automation tools (BlackLine, FloQast)
- CPA license (active or in progress)
- Experience supporting external audits and SEC reporting deadlines in a fast-moving environment
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Bonus: technical accounting memoranda experience, multi-entity consolidations, IPO or S-1 readiness experience, or SQL/advanced Excel modeling skills
