The position emphasizes ownership of monthly, quarterly, and annual closes, accurate financial statements, and robust internal controls.

Qualifications

  • Progressive accounting experience with 4–7 years.
  • Advanced, hands-on QuickBooks experience required.
  • Real estate accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong GAAP and month-end close knowledge.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance; CPA a plus is desirable.

Job description

A growing real estate investment and operating company is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee its day-to-day accounting function and strengthen its financial processes.

This is a hands‑on role requiring significant QuickBooks experience. The Accounting Manager will take ownership of property and corporate accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and the oversight of external accounting support.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage accounting and financial reporting across multiple real estate entities and properties.
  • Maintain accurate books and records within QuickBooks.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, general ledgers, and supporting schedules.
  • Manage bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash activity.
  • Review property-level income, expenses, accruals, and intercompany transactions.
  • Oversee accounting for acquisitions, development activity, capital expenditures, and operating assets.
  • Manage entity-level accounting and ensure transactions are properly recorded.
  • Coordinate with property managers, operating teams, lenders, investors, and external accounting professionals.
  • Supervise and review the work of third-party or offshore accounting resources.
  • Improve accounting procedures, internal controls, reporting standards, and QuickBooks workflows.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, tax preparation, audits, and lender reporting.
  • Provide ownership with accurate and timely financial information.
What We’re Looking For
  • Approximately 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Advanced, hands‑on experience with QuickBooks is required.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Enterprise, or both strongly preferred.
  • Real estate, property accounting, construction, development, or investment‑management experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger accounting, financial statements, and month‑end close.
  • Experience managing multiple entities and intercompany transactions.
  • Ability to review the work of internal and external accounting resources.
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable improving existing processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • CPA is a plus but not required.
